Duck Repellents

Duck and Geese Control

View Products by Type:

Ducks are mostly aquatic birds, mostly smaller than the swans and geese, and may be found in both fresh water and sea water. Predators of the adult duck can be large fish, alligators, crocodiles, and predatory birds such as the Peregrine Falcon.

The best thing you can do to get rid of ducks is to block access to any food or water. If this is not possible you have to do your best to scare them away using sounds, decoys and other repellents. Remember that ducks are protected under the Migratory Bird Act, so it's illegal to shoot at them or "near" them.

Some online sources recommend stringing ropes or string around your property to keep them out. This is a bad idea because the ducks can easily become tangled in them. Also note that ducks and geese are not created equal — some of the electronic / sonic devices designed to repel Geese will not work the same way on ducks.

Duck Roosting & Landing Prevention — Most Recommended

The best way to get rid of ducks is to physically block them out or at least restrict access to their favorite areas (grassy areas and bodies of water). All of the products below work even better when used in combination with reflective Bird Scare Tape.

Visual Scare Devices for Ducks

Visual scare devices work great in combination with barrier controls. Animal replicas can be used around your property, while repellents like the Gator Guard and Terror Eyes balloons can be floated in pools or ponds to prevent ducks from landing. For best results decoys should be moved around often so the ducks don't get used to their presence.
